What is waxing?
Waxing is a safe and effective method used for the temporary removal of unwanted hair on the face and body.
Using a roll-on applicator or spatula, warm heated soft or hard wax is applied to a specified area. A tape is applied then quickly removed, thereby removing unwanted hair.
Which wax tapes are used?
At Forget Me Not Day Spa we use a waxing strip procedure to remove soft wax and a hard wax {uses no strips} to remove hair. The waxes are azuline, blue-green in color, and acquired from the chamomile plant. They are gentle and are ideal for very sensitive skin types.
For our hard wax no strips are used similar to sugaring procedures, affecting only the hair not the skin, and is suitable for bikini, underarm and face areas.
Soft wax is applied with the use of a heating unit which contains cartridges with roll-on applicator which enable each application to be clean, safe and free from bacteria.
What is the difference between basic bikini wax and brazilian bikini wax?
Basic bikini wax removes hair growth outside the normal bikini line area, thus creating a neat clean appearance when wearing a bikini or underwear. Specific individual hairline level preferences can be discussed with your esthetician.
Brazilian waxing is different in that it not only removes hair growth outside of the bikini area, but also hair growth in the pubic region and buttocks. Many women and men receiving brazilian waxing prefer not to have total hair removal. Specific instructions can be given to the attending esthetician.
Brazilian waxing has become very popular in recent years and is in no way considered to be an embarrassing process. It is also preferred for several other reasons including medical and hygiene purposes.The best wax to be used on this area is hard wax, concentrating mainly on the hair, not the skin which in that area is very sensitive.
Pubic hair can be removed in a number of ways including waxing, shaving, sugaring, laser or by chemical depilatory creams. Hair may also be trimmed. Although these procedures are mainly associated with females, they are also available for males wishing to remove unwanted hair.
